BC began with two people, Bonnie Buckner and Scott Chamberlain, who held a simple, shared belief: that the environment in which we live is a reflection of, and influences, our own internal environment. From this understanding a collaboration was formed to help people create positive environments for their lives, in their homes and with their communities so that we can all take a step up.
Since our conception we have restored historic apartment buildings, restored and built single family homes, co-founded a neighborhood association, been integral in tree planting projects placing over 400 trees near downtown LA, co-sponsored neighborhood clean-ups with at-risk youth and worked with city organizations and obtained grants for projects such as stop sign and bus shelter installations and parkway beautification.
Whether we’re working with one family to restore their home, helping to empower a neighborhood group to focus on shared interests, or partnering with city and corporate community outreach programs our mission remains the same: to affect positive change inside and out.
